Ah, that was good. So yeah, the winners of the Team Spirit award for the AdeptiCon Team Tournament this year are from our club. They really pulled out all the stops to win this award and we couldn't be happier for them. After their triumph I asked each of them to give me a quick write up of their experience at AdeptiCon this year and what they did to bring home the Team Spirit award. Now, without further ado...

The Privateer Press invasion.

Right around the beginning of this year a few of us began playing Warmachine/Hordes. For those of you not familiar with this game it's made by Privateer Press, a company based right here in the good 'ole US of A. This is a pretty big deal for us since our group has practically been 100% Warhammer 40k since we started up a few years ago. This is not the first time some of us have tried to bring WM/H to the Barn as was discussed in a previous post some time ago. This time feels different though.

Bring it on 2012.

First off, Happy New Year to everyone.

So what's going to happen at the Battle Barn this year? Well, we've got a Warhammer 40k league that will be starting up in the next week or so that will end in a 1500pt tournament. Opening round will be 500pts and every two weeks your army will grow by 250pts. Here's my favorite part of the whole thing, fully painted AND based, WYSIWYG miniatures only. You can only put down primed, partially assembled models so many times. Honestly though, how difficult is it to paint and base 1500pts? Just sit down and paint fool.

AdeptiCon 2012

It has begun. Registration for AdeptiCon 2012 opened on Halloween at 5pm CST. For those of you unfamiliar with the greatest event in wargaming allow me to give you a brief rundown.

Taking place in the Chicago area, AdeptiCon is one the largest wargaming conventions in the United States. It holds tournaments/events for just about every major game system there is. Warmachine/Hordes, Lord of the Rings, Wahammer Fantasy, with Warhammer 40,000 getting the bulk of the attention.

New Necron info.

So, some some new Necron rumors hit the internet today. This time they're about Necron Warriors and Immortals. On the other side of this link is an image of what looks like a page from the codex itself.

Looks like the Necrons are getting some fancy new weapons and wargear. Can't wait to see what the actual codex does to the army.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine Review

Greetings all. As you can tell this is a review of the most recent Warhammer 40k video game Space Marine. Having finished the game twice now and played way too multiplayer I figured now was a good time to post a review. Warning there will be what some call spoilers in this. My apologies in advance on writing this review. Also I get a bit spacey, but that's because it is so hard to sum up the awesomeness of this game.
